We are open to hearing from writers and illustrators who would like to introduce the world to South Asia and South Asian diaspora around the world – the people, places, and cultures of India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. We are looking for stories that authentically represent the diversity of the region and its people. Please read this post for more on this issue – Authentic, not just diverse.
Genres we are seeking – picture books, early readers, middle grade, YA, and graphic novels. We are considering adult literature selectively for a future imprint.
We would like to build partnerships with our authors and illustrators. We are looking for people who share our love for books and are willing to actively participate in the process of building a market for our stories.
Here are some basic guidelines –
For writers –
Send a query letter and three sample chapters to firstname.lastname@example.org. For picture books, please send us the entire manuscript. Your entry must be original, unpublished and not accepted by any other publisher or producer at the time of submission.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for us to review your manuscript.
For illustrators –
Send us your bio, a link to your portfolio and TWO sample images to email@example.com. Submissions sent through social media will not be considered.
